Aurora's Centennial Celebrations

The Town of Aurora celebrated Canada’s 100th anniversary with a four day program of events. The theme was “March on Centennial Fun” and was inspired by the main Saturday event, which was a re-enactment of the Lloydtown March of the Rebellion of Upper Canada of 1837.  Twenty-six members of the Aurora Junior Chamber of Commerce acted as the rebels, and met costumed members of the Queens York Rangers on Yonge Street, where they exchanged gunfire before proceeding to Eglington Avenue in Toronto.
